Using the EIR® Program -
Group Activities
Teachers learning to implement EIR® meet in August and/or September
for 4 to 6 hours to cover the overview of the program (modules 1-7) and
procedures (modules 8-13). Then teachers meet as a group once a month
for 2 hours from September through April (modules 14 and 17-24 ). These
monthly meetings begin with a large group session in which people across
grade levels share ideas and concerns. This cross-grade meeting time
is important to enhance and build communication and collaboration which
are hallmarks of effective schools (Taylor, Pearson, Clark, & Walpole,
2000).
